At Luck, our Equipment Operators play a key role in keeping our operations moving safely and efficiently. This isn’t a “sit and wait” role—this is hands-on, all-in work where your skill and awareness directly impact the success of the site.
In this position, you’ll operate a variety of equipment throughout your shift, including a CAT 980 loader, water truck, and sweeper. You’ll move between machines based on the needs of the operation, keeping things flowing while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and teamwork.
We’re looking for someone who knows their way around heavy equipment, takes pride in doing the job right, and can work with a high level of independence. You’ll report to a supervisor or foreman, but day to day, you’re trusted to manage your responsibilities and make good decisions in the moment.

What You’ll Do
- Operate multiple pieces of equipment to support daily plant and site operations
- Adjust throughout the shift to meet changing production needs
- Maintain safe working conditions through equipment operation and site awareness
- Perform basic equipment checks and report any issues
- Work closely with your team to keep the operation running smoothly
- Experience operating heavy equipment (loader experience strongly preferred)
- Ability to safely and confidently run multiple types of equipment
- Strong awareness of surroundings and commitment to safe choices
- Dependability and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to jump in where needed to support the team
- Flexibility - the right person will do a bit of everything around the site, including helping yard load customers for Ecosystems.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a loader in a quarry or large construction site environment is necessary. Other heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills
- Must have a team oriented, positive outlook toward work and accomplishing goals. This is a small team that will need to coordinate time off.
- Must be punctual. Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 4 PM.
- May be needed to work at other plants in the Northern Virginia area.
