The Offsite Facilities Operations Supervisor oversees and coordinates engineers and service contractors, ensuring the upkeep of systems such as electrical, fire alarms, low voltage, plumbing, medical gas, boilers, mechanical, HVAC, and various trades like doors, carpentry, and painting. The role includes overseeing building and grounds maintenance, handling fixed and portable equipment, and supervising minor construction and equipment installation at offsite healthcare facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the hospital's policies and procedures, including its Service Standards and its Code of Conduct.

• Responsible for proper function of electrical, fire alarm, low voltage, plumbing, medical gas, boiler, mechanical, HVAC, and finished trades equipment; oversees inspection, testing, and maintenance activities in accordance with regulations; and coordinates vendor-based maintenance and repairs. Performs building inspections at consistent intervals to monitor overall condition of offsite facilities to direct engineers for corrective action as needed.
• Uses enterprise asset management application to supervise completion of work orders and adherence to regulatory compliance and department standards for the following:
  • Staff productivity, scheduling; and report generation at consistent intervals as required by Manager for action.
  • Maintenance of required records, gathering of statistics to perform root cause analysis with determining resolution for corrective work orders, and prepares regulatory reports as required.
  • Maintains inventory of materials, supplies, and equipment. Submits requisitions for replacement items and approves invoices.
  • Audits/evaluates customer feedback and staff work order communication regarding department standards, staff performance, repeat work orders, and work order handoff.
• Facilitates construction, maintenance, and service outages including Utility Shutdown Requests (USRs), impact review, countermeasure development, communication, and staff coordination.
• Performs facility rounds at consistent intervals to monitor, observe, and counsel for immediate correction engineer performance. Reports findings to Manager to collaborate on correction of deficiencies as needed.
• Supervises service contractor work and collaborates with hospital departments for services with shared responsibility.
• Works with specialty trade supervisors for Electrical/Fire Alarm/Low Voltage, Plumbing/Medical Gas, Mechanical/HVAC, and Finished Trades/Doors to support or assist with advanced repairs, ensuring complex issues are resolved efficiently and in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Trains staff in technical procedures within their areas of expertise. Manages and schedules training time for staff and performs on-the-job training as needed.
• Evaluates and mentors staff work habits, attitudes, attendance, and future growth. Fosters communication between shifts, trades, and intradepartmental staff.
• Documents and makes recommendations regarding employee performance concerning retention or promotion and takes corrective action as indicated by hospital policies and appropriate labor agreements.
• Holds staff meetings/huddles at consistent intervals to support Manager with implementation of department and hospital practices and policies.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement regarding department workflows and effects changes to improve quality and efficiency of services.
• Performs supervisory functions by interviewing, selecting, and providing training for new staff; by approving or disapproving recommendations from subordinate staff on personnel actions; by evaluating subordinates' performance; by hearing and resolving employee grievances; and by determining the need for and initiating disciplinary action to ensure adequate and competent staffing for the agency, program, division, or institution.
• Conducts performance evaluations at required intervals; manages disciplinary action per human resource guidelines; makes hiring and firing recommendations; keeps Manager abreast of personnel issues.
• Manages and approves paid-time-off of engineers so that work is covered.
• Supervises and directs the activities of the engineers; sets priorities; assures appropriate completion of their work and inspects their work.
• Assures the engineers have the materials and tools needed to perform their tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education:High school diploma/GED or trade school equivalent in work related field.

Experience:Five (5) years of progressively responsible directly related work experience.

Preferred License/Certification: EPA 608, NFPA 99 healthcare facilities code essentials, OSHA 30-Hour General Industry (Healthcare emphasis)

• Ability to install and troubleshoot electrical systems (including low voltage and fire alarms), plumbing and medical gas systems, HVAC systems, and door/finish systems.
• Ability to teach and direct journeyman tradespeople across multiple disciplines.
• Ability to read and interpret As-Built and Record drawings.
• Knowledge of critical healthcare systems, including type 1 essential electrical systems (low voltage switchgears, nurse call systems, fire alarms), medical gas systems, HVAC controls, and life safety systems (fire-rated doors, egress, and accessibility).

Pay Range
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.
Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.
Minimum to Midpoint Range (Hourly): $51.16 to $67.82
