As Senior Auditor, you will perform significant audit and other assurance engagements for our clients, build relationships, and assure continued close personal attention to their needs.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assume responsibility for the completion of a variety of tasks as part of the assurance team, including audit and review procedures, and working on special projects in accordance with professional standards.
• Ability to see engagements through from start to finish, including assisting with preparation of budgets and budget maintenance and planning audit fieldwork.
• Analyze and assess client systems and internal control processes and oversee implementation of controls.
• Ability to assess risks and develop audit procedures to address the identified risks.
• Prepare financial statements and required footnote disclosures, as well as other client communications and reports.
• Develop strong client relationships as a trusted advisor and consultant, proactively communicating to gather information to ensure timely engagement wrap-up.
• Communicate with team members and engagement leaders during engagements regarding engagement status, identified issues, and problem areas.
• Effectively communicate technical matters to both client and engagement team members.
• Schedule, delegate, and review the work of staff.
• Supervise, train, and mentor staff.
• Keep senior manager informed of engagement status and issues.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Expert knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
• Proficient in both GAAP and GAAS standards (GAS experience a plus)
• Proficient with accounting software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to apply this ability to client engagements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting and audit software
• Ability to assist both staff auditors and team leaders in completing engagements.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline required.
• Current CPA or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam is required.
• 2 years of experience in performing audits, preferably in a public accounting setting.
