What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Vehicle Technician, Vehicle Test position at Lucid Motors?
As a Sr. Vehicle Test Technician, reporting to the Manager for Vehicle Validation, you will be assigned a range of duties, including instrumentation of vehicles for testing in various disciplines, dynamics, durability, noise and vibration, performance. You will work with a dedicated group of engineers and technicians to solve data acquisition problems. You will also support various engineering prototype builds.
The ideal candidate can show proof of excellence in your past position, while demonstrating profound creativity in resolving mechanical problems, diagnosing faults, and implementing vehicle test hardware.
The Role:
- Build state of the art automotive prototype vehicle, systems, and subsystems
- Work closely with Design engineers and identify potential assembly and service issues
- Work efficiently within a multidisciplinary cooperative environment
- Evaluate engineering prototypes on the road to acquire various types of data
- Service instrumentation systems and wire harnesses
Qualifications:
- Proficient with wiring and sensor installation and check out
- Able to diagnose basic wiring problems
- Must be willing to work flexible hours including weekends and possible overtime including supporting test trips to various locations around the mid-west US and occasional trips to California HQ. Estimated travel 20%.
- Basic computer skills for issue reporting
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly both written and orally
- Exceptional ability and desire to learn new skills and tools ability to apply oneself in new problems in a dynamic lean start-up environment
- Proof of excellence in your past position, while demonstrating profound creativity in resolving mechanical problems
- 5 years automobile technician experience
- Valid US driver's license
Education:
- Degree in Automotive Technology or ASE Certification or equivalent professional vehicle service expertise.
Preferred:
- Associates degree or equivalent training
- Experience working on fully electric vehicles
- Professional Race team experience
- Fabrication and wiring experience
