The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, General Assembly will be responsible for taking the lead role in designing new General Assembly equipment at Lucid. The Sr. Manufacturing Engineer, General Assembly will work closely with Logistics, Manufacturing Operations, Manufacturing Engineers, Product Engineering, New Product Introduction and other cross-functional teams to ensure the General Assembly process is properly designed and implemented.
You Will:
- Demonstrate the ability to lead technical efforts of teams engaged in complex process development
- Develop and implement General Assembly process quality control plans for trim, chassis, final, inspection and sub assembly lines
- Coordinate launch activities with both Product and Plant Engineering
- Develop and implement General Assembly PFMEA standards and policies
- Help achieve the defined volume, worker density, costs and safety objectives
- Identify, trial and implement any new tools, equipment and processes that could improve quality and manpower efficiency
- Effectively manage and balance safety, quality, throughput, cost, and people to provide maximum value to the customer and the company
- Develop and implement training programs for production associates
- Prepare and procure all items for station readiness for General Assembly line launches
- Utilize analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE or similar certifications/ disciplines
- Work with layout engineering to prepare and optimize General Assembly line layouts
- Experience working with the following equipment: robotics, end of arm tooling, pick and place automation, position sensors, material handling, fluid dispensing, deflection analysis, vision systems, conveyor and laser cleaning/ metrology
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required
- 5 years in General Assembly Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience in the automotive General Assembly equipment design/ sustaining is a must
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments
- Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Catia and Delmia
- 40% Domestic and International Travel Required
