Job Summary:
At Lucchese Bootmaker, craftsmanship defines our brand. In boot making, counters are small, shaped pieces of leather or synthetic material used to reinforce and shape the boots upper, especially around the toe box, instep, and heel. They help maintain structural integrity, improve fit, and protect the leather from wear. Sanding counters is a finishing step that ensures they are smooth, flush with the surrounding leather, and free of burrs or irregularities.
Scope of Job:
The Sanding counters operation is a hands-on operation using power sanding machines to remove excess material, smooth seams, and shape the boots upper so it matches the sole ad other components. The process requires exceptional hand dexterity and attention to detail. This position will need hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
Duties & Responsibilities
The Sanding Counters Operator will perform the following operations on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities may be modified to meet business needs:
- Get material from the counter rack with different sizes of counters.
- Stand Infront of sanding machine to start the sanding process.
- Get different counter sizes to sand to make sure you have all sizes sanded for production needs.
- Before sanding the counters put counters into an angle to make sure all edges of the counters are sanded.
- Make sure all counters are sanding nicely and thin for the production process.
- Than place completed counters to the completed rack ready for production.
- Must meet the required goals for the day.
- Always keep workstation clean.
- Assist other working areas, as necessary.
General Responsibilities

- Perform additional duties assigned by Supervisor.
- Support and comply with all company policies and safety procedures.

- Demonstrate flexibility to rotate stations without compromising efficiency or quality.

Education, Experience, and/or Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in boot manufacturing, leather goods production, or similar industrial manufacturing environment required.
