Job summary:
At Lucchese Bootmaker, we craft the highest quality cowboy boots in the industry. The Rib Insole operator is responsible for Aligning the rib, so it supports the arch correctly and matches the specific design of the last (the foot- shaped mold) for accurate boot sizing. The Rib Insole in boot manufacturing is responsible for placing and shaping the rib reinforcement within the boot’s midsole area, ensuring structural integrity, arch support, and proper fit before the final assembly of the insole and outsole.
Scope of job:
The rib layer position involves a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall quality and functionality of the boot. Within the department they collect the insoles from the rack and apply yellow cement (adhesives) onto the insole letting the insoles dry completely before applying the rib layer with a rib layer machine onto the insole, making sure it is aligned properly and evenly before sending the insoles for the next process.
Duties/Responsibilities:
All responsibilities may be modified based on business needs.
- Collect insoles from daily production rack
- Apply yellow (Adhesive) cement
- Make sure insoles are completely dry for the next process
- With a rib layer machine apply insoles one by one for the rib layer on the insole
- Double check work to make sure the rib layer is aligned and evenly on the insole.
- Return completed pairs for the next process
- Maintain workstation cleanliness and organization.
- Make sure machine is turned off if not operating.
- Follow all safety guidelines.
Quality & Production Expectations:
- Meet daily production targets established by the department.
- Maintain high fast pass yield with minimal rework.
- Immediately escalate machine malfunctions or quality concerns to Supervisor.
- Demonstrate commitment to craftsmanship and continuous improvement.

Education, Experience, and/or Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience in leather goods or boot manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit continuously for a minimum of eight – hour shifts.
- Frequent repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movement.
- Ability to lift materials and boxes up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to maintain focus and precision during repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work in a production manufacturing environment.
