Description
Job Purpose: The HR Manager will partner with cross-functional business leaders to implement HR services for our Lucas Oil’s manufacturing facility in Corydon, Indiana, as well as the Lucas Oil Golf Course in English, Indiana. In partnership with the VP of Human Resources, this person will advocate for the employee experience and provide guidance in all phases of the employee lifecycle, such as culture, onboarding, performance management, training, retention, employee relations and offboarding.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact for our manufacturing facility, providing day-to-day support and execution of a variety of HR functions
- Promote a positive team attitude with employees and build trusted relationships, while still holding others accountable
- Listen actively to employee concerns and questions, and provide complete and accurate information about HR policy, time off policy, pay impacts, benefits information, and other HR items
- Build a workforce that creates a competitive advantage by recruiting, developing and retaining top talent
- Provide staffing and recruiting support, including collaborating with departmental managers to understand gaps, skills and competencies required for openings
- Develop thorough and compliant job descriptions and manage job boards and candidate communication through the company HRIS
- Oversee the interview process and maintain communication with hiring teams
- Support staff by conducting and helping deliver the new employee orientation and onboarding program
- Provide coaching on employee-related issues such as professional development performance investigations and disciplinary action, escalating to a senior member of the HR team as needed
- Work with Payroll to resolve employee payroll inquiries and issues
- Support the Payroll and Benefits team with employee benefits programs and the annual open enrollment process
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of employee information in our company HR system
- Maintain all employee and applicant documentation (including employee personnel files), as dictated by governing agencies
- Oversee the company’s Worker’s Compensation program
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Characteristics and Competencies

- Proven experience in recruitment and onboarding
- Basic understanding of employee benefit plans and administration, compensation, and staffing
- Working knowledge of government laws, regulations, and legal decisions affecting employment

- Demonstrated presentation and facilitation skills

- Flexible; ability to adapt style/approach based on situational dynamics
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn HRIS software. Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
- Proficient with Office 365 or related software
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience preferred.
- 7 years related experience required.
- SHRM certification, or equivalent preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Willing to work in an office environment
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Able to travel once a month to the Lucas Oil Golf Course in English, IN (approx.. 30 min drive)
Salary : $77,600 - $98,200
