The Chicago based Chief Marketing Officer will lead The Company's global marketing strategy, positioning the brand as a category leader in the IoT and enterprise technology markets. S/he will architect a hybrid human AI marketing organization to drive pipeline growth, amplify brand equity, and deliver highly personalized, scalable campaigns. Partnering across Sales, Product, and Customer Partner Success, the CMO will ensure marketing’s measurable impact on revenue, market share, and customer loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Market Targeting
- Define and execute The Company's global marketing vision, aligning objectives with targeted customer segments, verticals, and sub‑segments based on deep market data.
- Lead the build of a customer database and segmentation framework to guide precise targeting at the sub‑industry and account level.
- Champion a hybrid human AI marketing model, ensuring speed, scalability, and nuanced brand integrity across all efforts.
Corporate Marketing
- Oversee The Company's branding, image, and corporate communications to ensure a unified voice and presence across markets and geographies.
- Protect and enhance brand equity through consistent storytelling and high impact thought leadership.
Demand Generation & Marketing Operations
- Direct all new customer acquisition programs, funnel strategy, and campaign execution — across direct and partner channels.
- Manage routes to market including CSPs, OEMs, technology alliances, and strategic partnerships.
- Oversee marketing operations with a focus on cost of acquisition, cycle times, and cost per MQL/SQL, using AI analytics for real‑time optimization.
- Ensure seamless integration of channel and direct marketing campaigns with measurable ROI.
Go‑to‑Market Campaign Execution
- Lead the planning and execution muscle for channel and direct GTM strategies, ensuring campaigns are tailored to verticals and target accounts.
- Orchestrate events (CXO dinners, industry summits, trade shows) as lead generation and relationship‑building platforms, executed either directly or through channel partners.
Customer Marketing & Advocacy
- Drive programs that engage, retain, and grow The Company's existing customer base; develop advocacy, case studies, and testimonials.
- Implement AI enabled churn prevention, upsell, and crosssell strategies to maximize customer lifetime value.
Key Metrics of Success
- Marketing-generated revenue contribution metric (pipeline and closed-won deals).
- Brand equity growth in target markets, measured via sentiment analysis and awareness studies.
- Campaign velocity improvement (concept to market cycles).
- AI agent ROI — efficiency gains, personalization outcomes, and lead quality metrics.
- Cross-functional stakeholder satisfaction with marketing’s impact.
Minimum Requirements
- 15 years in progressive marketing leadership roles, including experience in enterprise B2B technology markets (IoT and SaaS preferred).
- Proven track record driving measurable revenue impact from marketing.
- Deep expertise in brand positioning, demand generation, and customer engagement.
- Experience implementing or scaling AI-enabled marketing operations.
- Outstanding communication and storytelling skills — adept at engaging executive, customer, analyst, and investor audiences.
- Data-driven mindset with fluency in marketing analytics, attribution modeling, and AI governance.
- 5 days a week in-office.
