Description:
The Financial Counselor will work closely with departments within Lucas County Health Center to pre-register patients, and to verify all patient demographic and insurance information. This position will be responsible for completing all required prior authorizations for LCHC patients and verifying that any required authorizations that we cannot complete ourselves are in place prior to the services being rendered. This will include visiting with patients prior to admission or upon dismissal about insurance status and estimated patient responsibility. This position will aid patients with Medicaid applications, Financial Assistance applications, and applications for other financial resources. This position works very closely with any current outsourcing companies that are being used for patient statements or collections.

Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm

Requirements Educational/Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in health care setting desirable
Insurance knowledge desirable.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
Computer literate.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well.
