Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Contractor Laborer to join our construction team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential remodels to commercial builds, utilizing a wide range of construction skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working on construction sites, proficiency with hand and power tools, and a strong understanding of various building techniques. This position is essential for supporting project managers and ensuring the successful completion of construction projects with quality and safety in mind.
Responsibilities
- Assist with general construction tasks including framing, drywall installation, roofing, flooring, painting, masonry, fencing and lawncare/landscaping.
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to complete assigned duties.
- Support carpentry activities such as trim carpentry, door hanging, cabinet installation, and framing.
- Perform concrete forming, finishing, and masonry work as needed.
- Handle demolition, site cleanup, and material handling to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Assist with plumbing, electrical work, and other specialized trades under supervision.
- Read blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to accurately execute project requirements.
- Operate heavy equipment when required for site preparation or material movement.
- Support restoration projects including stucco application, caulking, glazing, and general site repairs.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
Experience
- Prior experience in construction site work or related fields is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with blueprint reading and schematics is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with various trades such as carpentry (frame, trim, door hanging), masonry (concrete finishing, bricklaying), roofing, flooring installation (tile laying), welding, and fabrication is desirable.
- Knowledge of construction management processes including estimating, inspection, and project coordination is a plus.
- Experience operating heavy equipment or machinery relevant to construction projects is beneficial.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to safety standards and project timelines.
