Executive Director

About ARC Peer Support Services
ARC Peer Support Services is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to supporting caregivers of children, partners, or friends, facing mental health challenges and/or addiction. Through compassionate connection and practical support, ARC empowers families by providing guidance, resources, and meaningful acts of service during difficult times.
Our model is built on two core volunteer roles:
- Resource Navigators – trained volunteers who meet with caregivers to provide support and connect them with relevant resources.
- Acts of Service Volunteers – individuals who assist families with tangible needs such as grocery shopping, childcare, and other day-to-day support.
Position Overview
The Executive Director will play a foundational role in building, leading, and growing ARC Peer Support Services. This individual will be responsible for developing and managing a strong volunteer network, ensuring high-quality support for caregivers, and establishing systems that allow the organization to scale sustainably.
This position will begin as a part-time, in-office role (approximately 20-30 hours per week) based in Newtown, PA, with the potential to grow into a full-time position. As the organization expands, the role may evolve to include a combination of remote work and on-call availability outside of standard hours.

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of ARC’s mission and programs
- Build and refine organizational systems, processes, and infrastructure
- Collaborate with founders/board (if applicable) to set strategic goals
Volunteer Recruitment & Management
- Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies
- Screen, interview, and onboard volunteers
- Coordinate and oversee background checks and compliance processes
- Match volunteers with appropriate roles based on skills and needs
Training, Support & Development
- Design and deliver onboarding and ongoing training programs
- Provide volunteers with relevant tools, guidance, and resource materials to effectively support caregivers
- Offer continuous support, coaching, and feedback to Resource Navigators and Acts of Service Volunteers
- Ensure volunteers are equipped to engage with caregivers in a compassionate and responsible manner
Program Oversight
- Ensure high-quality interactions between volunteers and caregivers
- Maintain familiarity with available community resources and ensure both volunteers and caregivers have access to accurate, up-to-date information
- Occasionally meet directly with caregivers/participants to provide support, assess needs, or step in when additional guidance is required
- Monitor program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement
- Maintain documentation and tracking systems for volunteer engagement and caregiver support
Operations & Administration
- Manage scheduling, communication, and day-to-day operations
- Establish policies and procedures that support safety, confidentiality, and quality
- Ensure compliance with relevant nonprofit and legal requirements

Compensation and Application
Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with experience.
