JOB TITLE: MEDICAL RECORDS TECHNICIAN (ROI)

POSITION TIMING: Immediate hire upon Contract Award and completion of all background and security investigations. Candidates must be willing to sign a Letter of Intent for submission with their resume.
HOURS/DAYS OF SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday
8:00am-4:30pm CST
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Process and release medical records and Protected Health Information (PHI) in accordance with federal and VA privacy requirements.
- Review and validate Release of Information (ROI) requests for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Locate and release records using electronic health record systems and ROI tools.
- Meet required turnaround times while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
- Document actions and communicate with VA staff as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one (1) year of full-time experience as a Release of Information (ROI) Technician or Health Information Technician performing ROI functions in a medical setting.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, Privacy Act, and health information confidentiality standards.
- Experience using electronic health record systems and ROI software.
- Strong attention to detail and customer service skills.
