JOB TITLE: MEDICAL LOGISTICS SUPPLY SPECIALIST
GOVERNMENT AGENCY & LOCATION: Joint Base Andrews
POSITION INFORMATION: This will be a Full-time position, Monday through Friday,
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain appropriate levels of medical supplies and equipment.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and prevent shortages.
- Track expiration dates and ensure the timely removal of outdated or expired items.
- Source and procure medical supplies, equipment, and services from approved vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate with the finance department to ensure timely payment of invoices.
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment.
- Maintain organized and secure storage facilities.
- Ensure that all supplies are stored in compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate the transportation and delivery of supplies to various departments or facilities.
- Work with clinical staff to understand their specific needs and adjust supply levels accordingly.
- Develop and implement efficient logistical processes to improve overall operations.
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory, orders, and transactions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including those related to hazardous materials and medical waste.
- Prepare and submit required reports and documentation to regulatory bodies.
- Inspect incoming supplies and equipment for quality and accuracy.
- Manage returns and exchanges of defective or incorrect items.
- Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the reliability of supplies.
- Work closely with other logistics and supply chain team members to coordinate efforts.
- Provide training and guidance to junior staff or new hires as needed.
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative departments to address any supply chain issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Experience with inventory management systems and procurement processes.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
HOURLY RATE: Commensurate based upon experience.
POSITION TIMING: Immediate hire upon completion of background and security clearances.
