Role Description
LTRC Dance is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate Dance Instructors located in the Lutherville-Timonium area to join our growing program. Whether you're an experienced instructor or an emerging dance educator looking to share your passion, we'd love to hear from you!
Role Responsibilities
The Dance Instructor will plan and lead classes from 1 to 15 dancers. Typical class expectations include: a structured warm-up, technique across the floor, center technique, and choreography.
Other responsibilities include developing age-appropriate class plans, demonstrating techniques, providing individualized feedback, and creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment. The instructor will help prepare students for the end of year recital, collaborate with other staff on curriculum and choreography, and communicate with families about progress and class expectations, when needed. Additional tasks include music selection for your classes, costume selection for your classes, attending rehearsals, performances, and staff meetings as required, learn a staff routine for the recital, and support fundraiser events.
Qualifications
- Previous dance teaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dance technique across one or more dance styles
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to maintain a positive learning environment
- Experience working with children is highly preferred
- Reliable, organized, and professional
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient, encouraging, and inclusive approach to student development.
