Skilled Rehab and Long Term Care Facility in Manchester, NH is looking for a dedicated Evening Dining Services Manager.
We are seeking a motivated professional with excellent people skills to direct the overall operation of the Dining Services Department and its programs and activities. Duties to include purchasing of dietary supplies, inventory control, monitoring and controlling budget, managing and training a variety of staff, managing the preparation and distribution of food, cleaning and maintenance of kitchen supplies and dishware, and others. Previous knowledge and proficiency with cooking and managing a kitchen in a health care setting required.
This is a Full-Time salaried position; Work hours are 11am - 8pm Tues-Fri/every other Sat/Sun.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
· Must possess, as a minimum, a Culinary Arts degree or be a Certified Dietary Manager or Certified Food Service Manager.
· Must have at least two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory capacity in a restaurant or nursing facility.
· Must be a minimum of twenty-three (23) years of age
· Must be knowledgeable of dietary practices and procedures.
· Must possess leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional staff.
· Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level, they are currently functioning.
· Must be able to relate to and work well with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people within the facility.
· May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., in excess of fifty (50) pounds throughout the work day.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assist to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals objectives, policies, procedures, etc of the Dining Services Department.
· Assume administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the Dining Services Department in the absence of the Dining Service Director.
· Coordinate Dining Services and activities with other related departments (ie. Nursing, Housekeeping, Social Services, etc.)
· Performs administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, repots, evaluation studies, etc. to assure control of equipment and supplies.
· Maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of Dining Service areas.
· Perform regular inspections of Dining Services areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties.
· Inspect food storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, etc. for upkeep and supply control.
· Interview residents, or family members as necessary to obtain diet history.
· Participate in maintaining records of the residents’ food likes and dislikes.
· Assist in developing methods for determining quality and quantity of food served.
· Visit residents periodically to evaluate the excellence of meals served, likes and dislikes, etc.
· Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident.
· Review the dietary requirements of each resident admitted to the facility, as may be required, and assist the nurse as requested in planning for the resident’s prescribed diet plan.
· Assist the Director in planning menus and work schedules, as required.
· Assist Dining Services Director in determining Departmental staffing requirements necessary.
· Counsel/discipline Dietary personnel as requested or as necessary and as approved by Dining Services Director.
