Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Field Generator Service Technician to join our team and deliver exceptional service in the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of power generation equipment. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of generators and power systems in the field using schematics and technical manuals.
- Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and small engine repairs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs accurately and efficiently.
- Identify electrical issues through diagnostics involving electrical work, schematics interpretation, and electrical system troubleshooting.
- Repair mechanical systems including engines (especially diesel engines), alternators, cooling systems, fuel systems, and other generator components.
- Assist with equipment installation, commissioning, and testing to meet client specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic within dealership or heavy equipment environments.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair, electrical diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and power generation systems.
- Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for complex equipment troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with electrical work such as soldering, wiring repairs, and electrical system diagnostics.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment parts safely (heavy lifting) and perform manual handling tasks regularly.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools including welding equipment and power generators.
- Mechanical knowledge related to automotive repair, small engines, vehicle maintenance, and heavy machinery.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel frequently for field service calls.
Preferred qualifications include dealership experience or prior work with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands; welding certification; experience with electrical diagnostics; sales experience; familiarity with schematics; and proficiency in soldering techniques.

Pay: $26.36 - $40.00 per hour
