Job Description:
LT Leon Associates is seeking a full-time Professional Land Surveyor to help grow our local survey team through collaboration with the key public and private stakeholders.
The successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and success of the business. This position requires a strategic leader who can develop client relationships, manage project teams and oversee financial and operational performance. Applicants must be self-motivated and able to mentor staff, drive quality assurance and implement risk management strategies.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Produce and deliver control, boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, hydrographic, and construction surveying services.
- Search legal records, survey records, and land titles to obtain information about property boundaries.
- Calculate geographic positions from survey data, property lines and other characteristics of terrain.
- Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, map records, and documents relating to surveys.
- Perform construction staking and as-built surveys.
- Document work performed and prepare any required daily reports.
- Develop and maintain relationship with clients.
- Communicate effectively with clients, engineers, project managers, and regulatory agencies.
- Operate survey-related software.
- Lead and supervise the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and invoices.
- Coordinate with office staff members, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Assist, train, direct, and supervise field crew and office staff members in the performance of their duties as it relates to surveying.
- Calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain survey and hydrographic equipment, including single-beam sonar, jonboat, canoe, and kayak.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have Professional Land Surveyor license or the ability to obtain within six months.
- A minimum of five years of survey experience.
- Must be able to lift and carry survey equipment (up to 50 lbs.).
Skills:
- Proficient with Trimble robotic total station and GPS equipment (Preferred).
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, site plans, and property boundaries.
- Ability to interpret engineering plans, legal descriptions and plats.
- Knowledge of quality, safety, and regulatory standards in surveying.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant computer skills preferred – AutoCAD Civil3D, and ArcGIS.
