LT Foods America is seeking a Continuous Improvement Supervisor oversees the Production Department, ensuring that quality products are delivered in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Production Manager, this role dedicates approximately 75% of its time to training employees and creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while the remainder focuses on traditional supervisory duties. The ideal candidate fosters a positive workplace culture, motivates team members, and drives operational excellence within the framework of continuous improvement.
Organizational Relationships
The role will be reporting to the Plant Manager. Indirect relationship with Sr Plant Leadership.
Key Accountabilities
- Design and implement training programs that equip employees with knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and operational procedures. Ensure ongoing coaching and support to foster proficiency and adherence to quality standards.
- Draft and maintain clear and accessible SOPs that reflect best practices and regulatory requirements. Implement a robust document control system to keep all procedures current and relevant.
- Identify and analyze process inefficiencies to develop actionable improvement plans that enhance production metrics. Lead cross-functional improvement projects, monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
- Oversee daily production activities to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards while promoting continuous improvement. Collaborate with department heads to align production goals with improvement strategies.
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages employee engagement in continuous improvement efforts. Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to drive team success.
- Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with food safety and workplace safety regulations. Conduct safety training sessions to guarantee that all team members understand and follow safety protocols.
Qualification & Requirements:
- SAP knowledge.
- Food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in the grain industry or similar.
- Familiarity with GFSI standards
- Previous experience creating SOPs and training documentation.
- 5 years in food manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role overseeing teams of 30 personnel.
- In-depth understanding of HACCP/HARPC, GMPs, Lean Manufacturing, and food safety standards.
- Strong communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills.
- Ability to work hands-on when required.
