The Department of English and Foreign Languages at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS) invites applications for a one-year full-time appointment at the rank of Instructor starting August 2027. Full-time instructor appointments may be renewed annually upon satisfactory performance reviews.
Responsibilities:
· Teach four courses each semester, including freshman composition and general education literature surveys. Teaching is mostly face-to-face but will also include online instruction.
· Teach upper-division classes as needed based on qualifications, and experience.
· Participate in service activities (such as committee work) at the university, college, and department levels, as well as in community and profession.
· Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
· A master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in English is required. A PhD in English is preferred.
· Evidence of effective teaching
