Position Summary
The Stanley S. Scott Cancer Center has an opening for a Department Coordinator to support a senior faculty leadership position. The incumbent will perform highly responsible administrative duties in support of the development of a Phase I Oncology program as well as the Cancer Center Clinical Trials Office. The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling travel, programmatic and administrative meetings, assisting with recruitment of faculty, editing publications, articles and abstracts, preparing agendas and minutes for meetings, maintaining a records management system, and supporting the Phase I team’s administrative needs. The incumbent is also expected to compile, coordinate, and assist in the preparation of quarterly, annual, and special reports and serve as a liaison between the office, faculty, staff, our affiliates, and other departments within the LSU Health Sciences Center. These duties may be confidential in nature, requiring maturity, diplomacy, and effective communication skills.
This work must be performed with a high degree of autonomy, self-initiative, and accountability with considerable focus and an expectation of strong apparent organization and communication skills. Incumbent must have the ability to work in a high-pressure environment and meet stringent deadlines in completing tasks while possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills.
