Role Purpose Statement
We seek an outgoing leader who thrives in a fast-paced production and transportation environment and enjoys managing a group of employees, primarily drivers, focused on delivering quality products to our customers.
This candidate must also monitor and engage employees in all safety & performance initiatives. Must be a night owl.
Main Accountabilities
- Ensure the area of responsibility is properly organized, staffed, and directed, with all delivery times met timely.
- Conduct daily work group meetings.
- Schedule and control staff to meet labor productivity and overtime targets.
- Ensure compliance with all government regulatory agencies' standards (e.g., Food and Drug Administration (FDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Transportation (DOT), Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), etc.).
- Document and follow up on all department processes to implement improvements.
- Ensure on-time and accurate production and/or catering of all flights.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
Leadership
- Guide, motivate, and develop staff within Human Resources policies.
- Makes the company's values and management principles live in the department(s).
- Manage productivity hours and costs in the area of responsibility; initiate and steer corrective actions in case of deviations.
- Participate and support company-sponsored initiatives such as Quality, HACCP, Lean Manufacturing, Employee Safety, and Production systems.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent knowledge required.
- In addition, one to three years of related work experience required.
- Problem-solving and leadership skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and lead others to obtain desired results and achieve productivity goals.
- Working knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA, USDA, and EPA regulations.
- Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills required along with the ability to multi-task.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications.
