About the Role
The Senior Community Manager is responsible for the overall operational, financial, and regulatory success of a multifamily affordable housing community. This position oversees leasing performance, resident relations, property compliance, team leadership, and financial management while ensuring exceptional service for residents and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
Property Operations
- Oversee all daily property operations to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming community.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resident satisfaction.
- Drive occupancy goals through effective leasing and retention strategies.
Affordable Housing Compliance
- Ensure compliance with LIHTC, Tax Credit, and Affordable Housing program requirements.
- Maintain accurate resident files and documentation.
- Prepare for audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.
Financial Management
- Manage property budgets and financial performance.
- Monitor rent collections, delinquency, occupancy, and expenses.
- Analyze monthly reports and implement strategies to maximize property performance.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, coach, and develop on-site team members.
- Foster accountability, engagement, and professional growth.
- Collaborate with regional leadership to achieve operational goals.
Maintenance & Vendor Management
- Partner with maintenance teams to ensure timely completion of work orders and property upkeep.
- Manage vendor relationships and service contracts.
Resident & Community Relations
- Build positive relationships with residents and community stakeholders.
- Resolve resident concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen community engagement and resident retention.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 1 year of experience as a Community Manager
- Market rate experience required
- 3 years of multifamily property management experience
- 1 year of LIHTC / Affordable Housing / Tax Credit compliance experience
- Proven experience managing property operations, occupancy, and financial performance
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong understanding of LIHTC and Affordable Housing regulations
- Budgeting, rent collections, and financial reporting experience
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-motivated, proactive, and results-driven
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RealPage
- Affordable Housing certifications (CPO, COS, TCS, HCCP, or equivalent)
