Role: Responsible for managing and following up on accounts to optimize cash flow until resolution or referral to collection agencies, handling patient and third-party communications effectively.
Responsibilities: Contact patients, insurers, and agencies to expedite payments, resolve billing issues, and handle inquiries or complaints. Interpret insurance, billing, and legal information to accurately address account concerns. Document actions thoroughly, manage settlement offers, and reconcile bad debt records. Identify billing trends and escalate issues as needed.
Qualifications & Skills: High school diploma, typically 2 years’ experience in insurance processing, collections, or customer service. Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Knowledge of medical billing and legal processes preferred.
Physical & Work Environment: Primarily sedentary work in an office setting, operating standard equipment, with occasional lifting. Fully remote position, working Monday to Friday during business hours.
