Job Overview
An In Room Dining Server plays a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining experience by providing attentive, friendly, and professional service to guests. The In Room Dining Server is responsible for taking orders, setting delivery tables, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction throughout their experience. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. In Room Dining Servers are also expected to have a deep knowledge of the menu, make recommendations, address any guest inquiries, and collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth, accurate service. A successful In Room Dining Server is personable, efficient, and dedicated to creating a welcoming atmosphere for every guest.
Key Responsibilities :
- Guest Interaction : Greet and warmly welcome guests over the phone, and provide detailed information on food and beverage offerings, including daily specials.
- Order Taking : Accurately take food and drink orders, relay them to the kitchen and bar, and ensure all modifications and special requests are communicated clearly.
- Food and Beverage Service : Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, while following service standards to ensure guest satisfaction and address any concerns or additional requests.
- Menu Knowledge : Maintain thorough knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and beverage pairings, to answer guest questions and make recommendations.
- Table Management : Set, deliver and retrieve tables efficiently, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for the next guests.
- Check Handling : Process payments, and handle transactions accurately and responsibly .
- Team Collaboration : Work closely with staff to ensure smooth and coordinated service and assist with other tasks as needed to maintain a well-functioning dining environment .
- Compliance : Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling.

Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests’ service needs, and thank guests with genuine appreciation. Speak with others using clear and professional language. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others, support team to reach common goals, and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards. Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e.g., small print). Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance. Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces as well as up and down stairs and / or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors. Participates in the development and implementation of corrective action plans. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
