Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review civil site designs including grading, drainage, access roads, foundations, and stormwater systems for utility-scale solar projects
- Prepare and/or review design deliverables such as site plans, grading plans, erosion control plans, and construction details
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (electrical, structural, geotechnical, and construction) to ensure coordinated project designs
- Support permitting efforts by preparing civil design documentation and responding to jurisdictional comments
- Perform site analysis using topographic data, geotechnical reports, and hydrology studies to guide design decisions
- Utilize civil engineering and CAD software (e.g., Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Hydraflow, HEC-RAS, or similar) to produce detailed and accurate drawings
- Evaluate constructability and provide field support during construction, including review of RFIs, submittals, and redlines
- Assist in developing civil design standards, templates, and best practices for continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including stormwater management, environmental, and permitting requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline required
- 3–5 years of experience in civil/site design, preferably in renewable energy, infrastructure, or land development projects
- Experience working in an EPC or design-build environment preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil design tools
- Strong understanding of hydrology, grading, and drainage design principles
- Familiarity with solar plant layout and interconnection concepts a plus
- Knowledge of permitting processes and environmental compliance requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
