Role Description The Field Service Engineer – Laser Production Equipment is a full-time, on-site role based in Tualatin, OR. This role is responsible for installing, commissioning, and maintaining laser production equipment at customer facilities, ensuring systems operate safely, reliably, and according to specifications. Day-to-day activities include diagnosing technical issues, performing repairs, conducting preventive maintenance, and documenting service activities and technical findings. The role involves providing onsite and remote technical support, training customer personnel on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance, and communicating service needs and outcomes clearly. The Field Service Engineer collaborates closely with engineering, sales, and customer service teams to support continuous improvement and high customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Strong field service and on-site equipment support skills, including experience working directly at customer locations.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and technical support for complex electro-mechanical or laser-based systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and ability to develop and follow maintenance schedules.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
  • Background in electronics, mechatronics, optics, or related engineering discipline; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial machinery, automation, or laser processing equipment is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and service manuals.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required and work safely in production environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
