Job Purpose
Safely and efficiently assist strander operator in the processing of raw materials
In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Maintain debarkers, strander, green screens, and associated belt conveyors
- Complete knife changes as required on machines
- Complete minor maintenance tasks to maintain operations and mill efficiency
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, including cleaning equipment
- Operate strander as needed on a relief basis
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned/necessary
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of complex equipment operation.
- Knowledge of general equipment maintenance
- Time management skills.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Excellent manual dexterity, hand/eye coordination
- Basic mechanical skills
- Ability to operate mobile equipment
- Ability to operate a chain saw
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in equipment operation
