Job Purpose
To load/unload trucks using motorized lift equipment
In This Position You Will Have The Opportunity To
- Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
- Daily inspect forklift and complete report form.
- Effectively load trucks and railcars using forklift.
- Ensure paint storage is correctly cycled and staged according to FIFO method.
- Perform housekeeping duties within the warehouse and plant.
- Remove debris from box cars.
- Assist with effective space utilization in the warehouse area by combing rows and moving product as directed.
- Prep rail dock for rail loading by removing rail guards, opening boxcar doors, and loosening center beam cables for loading.
- Set rail chock on all railcars and remove when loading is complete.
- Install boxcar seals and placards on boxcar doors.
- Collect and properly dispose of waste and debris.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks, railcars and center beams.
- Secure loads on railcars to ensure loads arrive to customer without damage
- Perform inventory counts/cycle counts.
- Perform any other duties or tasks assigned not listed above in job description in accordance with safety rules and regulations.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of complex equipment operation.
- Knowledge of general equipment maintenance.
- Time management skills.
- Demonstrated mechanical ability.
- Ability to read and understand safety rules and regulations.
- Must be forklift certified.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- 1 – 2 years’ experience in equipment operation.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
