Duties
- Safely operate forklifts to load and unload shipments.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic mechanical repairs or notify maintenance for repairs needed on forklifts and related machinery.
- Assist with warehouse management tasks including inventory control, stock organization, and materials handling to optimize space utilization.
- Support shipping & receiving activities by verifying shipment contents, completing documentation, and ensuring proper storage of goods.
- Maintain safety standards by adhering to OSHA guidelines during all operations and participating in safety training sessions.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to coordinate daily tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and ensure timely order fulfillment.
Qualifications
- 18 months experience operating forklifts or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for weight measurements and quantity verification.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor equipment repairs or troubleshoot operational issues.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
- Ability to lift, move, or pull objects up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in a warehouse that may not be climate controlled.
- Overtime opportunities will be available with some mandatory overtime, including weekends.
Pay: From $17.00 per hour
