| Duties and Responsibilities | Dr. Grace K. Muller's lab at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine is looking for a creative post-doctoral scholar to investigate how cyclic nucleotides cell signaling pathways and electrophysiologic changes contribute to heart disease or stress (pregnancy). The successful candidate will utilize cell and animal models to investigate how such changes in cell signaling and electrophysiology may be reverse-engineered for application in the clinic. Techniques we use include patch-clamping, live-cell imaging, and biochemical assays. In joining the lab, the associate will have the chance to train in a highly supportive department, extend their network and receive mentorship through our collaborator/neighbor Dr. Erika Piedras-Renteria, and further promote their career development through opportunities in scientific writing (grant and manuscript) and research presentations. The Muller Lab is located in an LEED-certified research building on a medical campus alongside of the Loyola University Medical Center and schools of nursing and public health. The Maywood Health Sciences Campus is located 11 miles west of downtown Chicago, and is accessible by car or public transportation.
