What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiac Catheterization Technician position at Loyal Source and Careers?
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree: Certificate
- Education: Graduate of a cardiovascular technologist program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Joint Review Committee in Cardiovascular Technology (JRC-CVT)
- Registration: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
- Experience: Minimum of one year of experience within the last two years as a cardiac catheterization technician
Core Duties:
- Perform duties within the scope of practice as defined by education and registration
- Review and record pertinent patient history and clinical data
- Conduct clinical procedures to obtain anatomical, pathological, and/or physiological data for physician interpretation
- Assist in interventional cardiovascular catheterization and/or cardiac electrophysiology procedures (e.g., balloon angioplasty, stent insertion, radiofrequency ablation, pacemaker/defibrillator insertion)
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations
- Conduct daily equipment warm-ups and quality control checks
- Provide patient care and communication to reduce anxiety and ensure proper positioning
- Input test data and patient information into equipment systems
- Identify abnormalities and determine the need for additional imaging
- Recognize anatomical variants and scan additional areas as needed
- Maintain and clean equipment per MTF policy; ensure adequate supply levels and recommend repairs when necessary
Pay: $39/hour
