Assistant Manager – Power Sports
Lowville Sport and Farm is currently seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team! In this position you will serve as the primary backup for the Sales, Parts, and Service Managers during vacations and time off. When not acting in a management capacity, your core focus will be to assist the General Manager in achieving dealership growth by managing website listings, assisting showroom customers, and supporting daily sales, parts and service operations. We’re not looking for an expert, we’re looking for someone that can keep customers engaged whether in person or on the phone and can help determine which expert they need. Core Responsibilities:
Management Backup & Coverage
· Departmental Backup: Step in as the primary backup for the Sales, Parts, and Service Managers during vacations and time off.
o Parts Receiving
o Service Scheduling
o Sales
· Financial Duties: Take responsibility for the cash drawer and process invoices.
Sales Support & Digital Merchandising
· Website & Social Media: Maintain and update web and social media listings for dealership inventory.
· Showroom Sales: Greet customers, develop a strong knowledge of all products offered, and actively help customers choose the right equipment.
· Will be trained to complete entire sales process including DMV paperwork
Counter Coverage
· Greet customers arriving at the parts and service area and direct them accordingly.
· Prepare repair orders by noting equipment symptoms and required services.
· Coordinate and assist with the pickup and delivery of customer machines.
· Administrative Support: Answer telephones, direct calls, take messages, and maintain a clean work area.
Qualifications & Requirements:
· Licensing: Valid driver’s license, motorcycle license preferred
· Technology: Computer and point-of-sale proficiency, with the ability to manage digital listings and search electronic parts catalogs.
· Mechanical Aptitude: A basic mechanical understanding of small engine repair is a plus.
· Customer Service: Previous customer service experience with excellent communication skills.
Experience:
Parts, Service, or Sales experience preferred
Customer service: 3 years
Education:
High school or equivalent
License/Certification:
Driver's License (Required, Motorcycle Preferred)
NYS Motor Vehicle Inspection License (Preferred)
Physical Demands:
Occasionally required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and lift up to 60 lbs.
Ability to stand on feet for lengthy periods of time, up to 8 consecutive hours
Occasionally requires the ability to balance and push a 600 lb. motorcycle.
Working Conditions:
Usually indoors, however outdoor work is required.
