Position Overview
Lowville Farmers Co-Op is looking for a dependable, hard-working Equipment Operator / Laborer to support our feed and fertilizer operations. This is a hands-on position working in a fast-paced mill environment where no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in everything from blending fertilizer and operating equipment to helping customers and supporting daily operations across the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate equipment including forklifts, skid steers, conveyors, and mixers
- Assist with fertilizer blending and feed production
- Load, unload, and move materials efficiently and safely
- Bag feed and fertilizer products as needed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas (sweep, wash down, general upkeep)
- Transport and pick up tow-behind spreaders using a company pickup
- Assist customers with product loading and general service
- Support other areas of the mill and retail operations during downtime
Qualifications
- Experience operating forklift and/or skid steer preferred (will train the right person)
- Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
- Comfortable working in a physical, outdoor/industrial environment
- Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly
- Valid driver’s license required
- Mechanical aptitude is a plus
