Job Summary:
Lowtouch.ai is seeking a hands-on IT Support Technician to provide on-site support for our office in Boston, MA. Our server and development infrastructure, including GPU-based servers and devkits, is managed remotely via SSH and BMC. This role focuses on on-site physical hardware support when issues require hands-on intervention, ensuring prompt resolution to support our global team, including our India-based engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site support at our Boston office for hardware-level issues, such as power supply, cabling, or network connectivity problems.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and execute hardware component replacements/swaps as directed by our remote engineering team.
- Ensure proper physical setup, cabling, and connectivity of servers and devkits.
- Act as the remote team’s hands on the ground for physical IT tasks.
- Respond to hardware issues by arriving at the Boston office within 1-2 hours of notification to assist in resolving issues, ensuring alignment with our global team’s operational needs.
Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of server hardware, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow detailed, step-by-step instructions provided by the remote IT/engineering team.
- Comfortable handling physical IT equipment (e.g., racking, cables, power supplies).
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with remote engineers, including our India-based team.
- Ability to reach the Boston office within 1-2 hours when a hardware issue arises, per our Service Level Agreement (SLA).
- Prior experience in IT support or as a hardware technician is preferred but not required.
Work Arrangement
- Part-time, on-call position—no daily office presence required.
- On-site visits to the Boston office only when physical hardware issues arise, with a commitment to arrive within 1-2 hours to meet SLA requirements.
