Legal Document Assistant- Collection Department
Job Overview: Responsible for creating and maintaining files for use in collection and litigation, including both physical and electronic files. Candidates for this position should be motivated, organized, and thrive in a quiet, concentration-friendly environment
Responsibilities and Duties
- Calendaring deadlines and dates for court appearances.
- Drafting letters and pleadings with a focus on petitions, garnishments, and motions.
- Other court documents as needed.
- Locating and retrieving electronic documents from Case Net/company internal system.
- Document filing/scanning.
- Cross-reference and organize files.
- Communicates with debtors.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
- Ability to understand the numerical file system.
- Ability to learn and understand new software.
- Experience working in a basic office or legal setting is a plus, but we are willing to train the right individual.
- Must have a good work ethic.
- Ability to produce detailed and accurate work.
- Ability to work independently as a self-starter as well as with a team.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
