JOB SUMMARY:
Position is responsible for organizing and managing patient health information data and completing the functions of the Rehabilitation front office area. Ensures that all duties are carried out with accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality. Oversees patient appointment system, including initial schedule input and maintenance. Provides prior authorization for clinic providers, maintaining positive communications with all clinic staff. Acts as a team player to ensure quality services are provided to all patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
1. Scheduling of all evaluations and maintenance of schedule for clinic.
2. Professionally answers phone, scans documents and sends/receives faxes as needed.
3. Promotes positive customer service.
4. Exhibits professional behavior in all facets of work.
5. Facilitates prior authorization and review of patient insurance for compliance with federal and state guidelines.
6. Manages current patient files, insurance authorizations and completes re-authorizations for providers.
7. Facilitates messages from patients and/or insures, assuring positive outcomes.
8. Maintains good communication with clinical professionals.
9. Ability to do data entry, collect, and distribute mail on a daily basis.
10. Proficient in the use of office machines including computer, fax, scan and copy machines.
11. Records and tracks statistical information.
12. Audits data per manager request.
13. Accepts and process patient co-pays.
14. Participates in staff meetings.
15. Carries out other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and License:
High School Diploma, preferred.
Certifications:
CPR/BLS or ability to obtain within 30-days of hire.
Experience:
Previous experience of office work in a hospital or medical setting, preferred. Previous experience with medical scheduling maintenance, preferred. Familiar with ICD-10 and CPT coding, preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works indoors in an air-conditioned rehabilitation gym/office environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent use of computer and phone, and other standard office machines. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, twist, kneel, reach, push, pull using proper body mechanics and move/lift varying amounts of weight (ie: copy paper and files) to a maximum of 30 lbs.
