Essential functions of the position include:
- Provide high quality instruction to assist students in reaching their full academic potential
- Plan, prepare and deliver appropriate lessons using a variety of presentation methods to keep students engaged.
- Create an environment of respect and rapport that fosters a positive climate for learning, equity, and excellence.
- Promote student learning by providing responsive instruction that makes use of effective communication techniques, instructional strategies that actively engage students in the learning process, and timely, high-qualify feedback.
- Fulfill professional roles and responsibilities, and adhere to legal and ethical requirements of the profession.
Desirable applicants will hold a B.A./B.S. degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field teaching. The candidate will be required to uphold standards set by the NC Department of Public Instruction.
