Job Description:
Under the supervision of a speech-language pathologist, the speech-language pathology assistant will provide therapy to help reduce or eliminate speech and hearing impediments that interfere with an individual student’s ability to derive full benefit from the collaborative’s educational program. The assistant will provide therapy services to students with a variety of needs and levels of disability, helping them develop the strength and skills needed to participate in the collaborative school environment.
Requirements:
1. Extensive knowledge of various communication disorders across diverse populations and age groups, including but not limited to Auditory Processing and Autism Spectrum Disorders.
2. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, with children and adults.
3. Commitment to staying current in content knowledge and therapy strategies.
4. Familiarity with and adherence to federal and state legislation, regulations, and Collaborative policies.
5. Ability to relate to and work with diverse constituencies, including but not limited to: administrators, teachers, other school staff, parents/guardians/caregivers, students, visitors, and the community.
6. Such alternatives to the above as the Board may deem appropriate, acceptable, and in conformity with state certification requirements.
Salary : $34,220 - $48,153
