Lowell Catholic is seeking dependable and flexible Substitute Teachers to provide classroom coverage for students in grades 7–12 during the 2026–2027 school year. This is an on-call, per diem position with varying coverage needs, ranging from one or two class periods to a full school day.
Substitute Teachers play an important role in maintaining a positive, safe, and productive learning environment when classroom teachers are absent. Teachers will provide lesson plans and instructions for their classes. Substitute Teachers are primarily responsible for classroom oversight and supervision, ensuring students remain on task, follow classroom expectations, and complete assigned work according to the provided plans.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in grades 7–12 and maintain a safe, orderly, and respectful classroom environment.
- Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the classroom teacher.
- Monitor student behavior
- Ensure students remain on task and use class time appropriately.
- Provide coverage for individual class periods, multiple periods, or a full school day, depending on the school's needs.
- Communicate any classroom concerns or relevant updates to the appropriate school personnel.
