BIKE MECHANIC & SALES ASSOCIATE
OVERVIEW
Lowcountry Bicycles is a leading bike shop in Beaufort, SC offering a range of high-quality bicycles, cycling gear & accessories, and repair services. We take pride in our expertise, excellent customer service, and our commitment to building a community of cycling enthusiasts. We are looking for a Bike Mechanic & Sales Associate who shares our passion for cycling and customer service. Join our team and help us continue to inspire and serve cyclists of all ages!
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with bikes and provide recommendations for repairs or replacements.
- Perform bike repairs, tune-ups, safety checks, and assembly of bike components for a wide range of bike models.
- Build and assemble new bikes to shop and manufacturer standards.
- Ensure all bikes are in top working condition before handing them off to customers.
- Keep the sales floor and back rooms clean, organized, and safe.
- Greet and assist customers with bike and accessory purchases.
- Educate customers on gear, bike fits, and product recommendations based on their needs and preferences.
- Process transactions, including sales, returns, and exchanges.
- Ensure clear and timely communication with customers regarding questions, sales, and service.
- Assist with stock organization, inventory tracking, and restocking the sales area.
- Build lasting relationships with customers, encouraging repeat business.
- Work closely with other team members in the day-to-day functions of the store.
- Represent the shop with professionalism and passion for cycling.
- Additional duties may be assigned on an ad-hoc basis as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MUST HAVE at least one year of experience as a bicycle mechanic.
- Previous retail or customer service experience required.
- Friendly, approachable attitude with strong communication skills.
- Ability to work on weekends (our store is open on Saturdays).
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and be on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable working with hand tools and power tools regularly.
- Passion for cycling and promoting an active lifestyle.

- Full-time, 40-hour work week, Part-time hours are available
