Associate attorney needed for litigation firm representing local governments in Texas. Litigation experience preferred but newly licensed attorneys should also apply. Compensation is hourly and commensurate with experience. Extensive travel, almost exclusively within Texas. A Texas law license is required, or at least the candidate should be sitting for the Texas Bar soon. Self-motivation, strong interest in litigation, and ethical commitment are required. Strong writing and legal analysis is needed. Persons wishing to be on a partnership track are preferred. Positive working environment and mentoring are provided. Much of the litigation concerns value of property for property tax purposes. It is an intellectual practice. Demanding hours are inherent in litigation, but having a balanced life is our goal. Paid personal time off is available.

The job location is 120 S. Lakeline, Cedar Park.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: approximate equivalent of $60.00 - $85.00 per hour

By way of example: At the lowest level of pay, $60.00 per hour, if you bill 1700 hours in a year, your base annual pay would be $103,980. The value of benefits varies by the person, but would be around $11,800 in addition.

Responsibilities:

Draft pleadings, discovery responses, letters. Conduct legal research for briefing and litigation support. Argue discovery motions and other pre-trial matters. Participate in trials. Work with a more experienced attorney initially, proceeding to managing your own litigation docket. Assist clients with legal questions.
