Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly, providing outstanding service and product knowledge to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist with product demos to educate customers about features and benefits, encouraging upselling opportunities
- Support daily merchandising efforts by organizing displays and stocking shelves to ensure an attractive store presentation
- Manage POS (Point of Sale) transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and basic math calculations
- Supervise store operations during scheduled shifts, including opening and closing procedures, ensuring store security and safety protocols are followed
- Maintain excellent phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone
- Assist in inventory management by stocking merchandise, conducting stock counts, and supporting merchandising initiatives
Skills
- Proven experience with POS systems and cash handling procedures in a retail or grocery store setting
- Demonstrated supervising experience or leadership roles in retail environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and product demos to engage customers effectively
- Familiarity with stock management, shelving, and store organization practices
