Work Times
Our hours of operation are 7:30am-4:45pm, Monday-Friday on non holidays. The hours for this teaching position are 8:15am-4:45pm M-F.
Paid Time Off & Sick Time
As part of our commitment to our teachers we provide:
Two weeks of paid vacation which fall on the week of Christmas and the week of 4th of July, three additional days of vacation time (we ask for a 14 day notice so we can hopefully find a substitute for these days), and 5 paid sick days for the year, totaling 18 days of paid leave.

Duties Include:
- Collaborating with administrators and teachers to implement an engaging and developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Supporting children’s needs for their health and safety including but not limited to changing diapers, helping students use the restroom when needed, caring for children who may be ill, helping to prevent injuries by maintaining a safe classroom environment and supervising students at all times, helping children during meal times, helping to create a calm and peaceful environment during nap time which may include patting students backs to help put them to sleep, picking up/carrying a child in need, helping to supervise students while they play and explore and doing your best to create a safe environment for them at all times, show empathy toward children, clean children’s wounds or help to take care of any emergency situations which may arise, etc.
- Supporting children’s learning by implementing the learning concepts into fun and engaging lessons which are developmentally appropriate and beneficial for students in their specific age group
- Communicating with families in a professional manner both verbally and in writing/Brightwheel messaging
- Active engagement with students and participation in classroom activities at all times
- Communicating with administrators and floating teachers assistants when an issue arises or when help is needed
- Maintaining an organized and clean classroom environment conducive to learning, exploring, and safety protocols
- Assisting with cleaning classrooms, putting sheets on beds, etc. at the beginning and end of shift according to assigned tasks
Lines of Supervision:
Preschool teachers will be in supervision of students ages 2-6. They will be responsible for communicating with the 7-12 student’s parents on their roster and keeping them up to date with great things and things which may need improvement upon through verbal and Brightwheel App message communication. Teachers will be expected to communicate with parents verbally, daily or almost every day. Teachers will submit a progress sheet to parents biweekly through the Brightwheel App. Formatting for this progress sheet will be provided for teachers and will include areas of great accomplishments and areas that we are working to improve upon for the student’s best interest. Teachers will also be responsible for communicating needs or issues with floating teachers assistants and with administrators.
Administrators will directly oversee preschool teachers and teacher’s assistants. They will communicate with them when any new information arises such as new students, new medications for students on roster, new custody papers or situations at home that need to be communicated, any needs for means of improvement within teaching skills, deliverance of lessons or communication to students, staff, or parents, or when any needs arise and the teacher is asking for assistance with a student’s behaviors or any other need.
Qualifications:
Preferred:
- 1 years of teaching experience
- CDA or Associate's Degree
Required:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Candidates must have a minimum of 6 child development units and continuously be enrolled in general child development courses until 12 child development units are reached
- Candidates must have a minimum of 50 days experience in a like setting (minimum of 3 hours per day) within a 6 month time frame
- Candidates must be CPR and First Aid certified or be willing to become CPR and First Aid certified
- Candidates must be willing to obtain Mandated Reporter Training as required by the state of California
- Candidates must have a negative TB test within the past 2 years and must also submit vaccination records to employer showing vaccination proof for MMR and Pertussis
- Candidates must pass the appropriate background checks and criminal record checks required by the state of California
- Candidates must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds incase a child is in need
- Candidates must have general computer/device proficiency which will allow them to communicate with parents via Brightwheel App messages
Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
