What are the responsibilities and job description for the PCA Personal Care Assistant position at LOVING HOME CARE, LLC?
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer first aid and medication as needed
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding if necessary
- Provide companionship and engage in activities with clients
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients
Experience:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of home care practices and techniques
- Familiarity with working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is a plus
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Skills:
- Strong patient care skills and the ability to provide compassionate support
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well with individuals of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Patience, empathy, and understanding in dealing with challenging behaviors
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects or individuals as required
