Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Caregiver to provide live-in and come-and-go support for individuals requiring assistance with daily activities, mobility, and personal care. This role offers an engaging opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring specialized memory care. The caregiver will ensure a safe, comfortable, and nurturing environment while promoting independence and well-being. Flexibility in scheduling and a proactive attitude are essential to succeed in this dynamic caregiving role.

New client 155 lbs. gate belt assist, wheelchair, hospital bed. Client is very kind, mild dementia, wonderful family, Adult very talented seasoned caregiver Son living at home, needed a break from caregiving twice a week for now. Wednesdays from 4pm till midnight, Saturday morning to Sunday mornings, time not determined yet.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Support mobility through manual handling techniques such as patient transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts, Gate belt assist and patient transfer methods.
• Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and ensuring proper infection control practices.
• Administer medications reminders as prescribed, following care plans meticulously while documenting all care activities accurately.
• Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging residents in meaningful activities that promote mental stimulation and social interaction.
• Assist with transportation for appointments or community outings, ensuring safety during travel.
• Follow established protocols for emergency situations including first aid, CPR, hospice care procedures, and responding appropriately to incidents involving dementia or neurodevelopmental disorders.

Requirements

• Proven experience working as a caregiver in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health settings.
• Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care..
• Familiarity with medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and techniques for manual handling and patient transfer methods.
• Ability to monitor vital signs accurately and recognize signs of distress or deterioration in health status.
• Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and documentation of care activities while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA standards.
• Experience working with individuals with autism or other developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications related to geriatrics or hospice care are a plus.
• Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility tasks safely; manual handling skills are essential.
• Compassionate attitude combined with a proactive approach to caregiving responsibilities; flexibility to adapt to changing needs of residents or clients.

Pay: $19.50 - $20.00 per hour
