What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Service Worker (DSW), Gretna position at Loving Hearts of LA?
Loving Hearts of LA is seeking reliable, responsible, dependable, and dedicated individuals to care for our clients in their home. Day shift Monday - Saturday. The applicant must have a passion for this field of work and possess qualities of caring and compassion. The duties required will be determined by the clients plan of care.
General duties for an employee include, maintaining and enhancing the well-being and health of the client. The employee will also be required to provide physical support, if required, to the individual client. It is the employee’s duty to implement the client’s individual service plan as trained. Employees are required to use the LASRS electronic time sheet system for each shift using the personal mobile device. Along with the electronic time sheets, daily progress notes and service logs describing what services were given and how the services were implemented for the client must be done for each client.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Medication Reminders
- Assisting with Personal Hygiene tasks
- Meal Preparation & Feeding
- Assistance with Bathing
- Assisting with Community Outings
- Monitoring and Supervision of Well-being
- Complete all paperwork as required including progress notes
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the person supported.
- Transportation (community outings, doctor visits, etc.)
Physical Job Requirements Include:
- Lifting to 100lbs
- Standing for prolonged periods of time
- Pushing and Pulling up to 50lbs
You must have reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and automobile insurance. Applicants must undergo a background check, and motor vehicle check. Applicant must obtain CPR/First Aid Certification within the first 45 days upon hire.
