In 2023, LoveShackFancy launched Beauty exclusively at Sephora, inviting millions into its rose-colored world of whimsy and celebration.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Research seasonal trends, silhouettes, materials, and novelty techniques; bring new ideas through competitive shopping and researchWork closely with the Senior Woven Designer on artwork, layout, and colorway reviewsCommunicate developments, launching layouts and concepts for mockups, embellishments, and sourcing to overseas factories; troubleshoot and work with the team to ensure developments meet design standardsWork on visual presentations for key meetings, ensuring boards and decks effectively communicate and align with the LoveShackFancy language; regularly update and ensure accuracy of flat sketches and CADs in the line sheetTrack the status of developments, ensure outstanding questions are resolved, follow all emails, and problem-solve with senior team members throughout the development of the collectionCreate tech packs for development including construction details, specs, and BOMsBe detail-oriented and knowledgeable in technical aspects of woven development including sketching, construction, and fitResearch and create new trim development and sourcingCreate drapes, 3D mockups, embroidery layouts, and trim layouts; support trim design and developmentAttend fittings and take notes; communicate changes through detailed tech pack comments, technical detail pages, and fit images; work with factories to maintain design concept, fit, and quality standards throughout the development processUpdate sketches to reflect fit changes during development and production fittingsPrepare sketch updates and BOMs for pass-off to the Production team post-market and tweak layouts as needed for costing and production needsAssist in managing operations in the design studio to ensure a smooth and organized design processPrepare and alter samples for market and Fashion WeekThis job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.SKILLS, QUALITIES & BEHAVIORS:35 years of experience in a design environmentHigh taste level and strong creative abilityExceptional design and fit senseSkilled in hand drawing or Procreate for flatsComputer skills: expertise in Photoshop and Illustrator is required; proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Canva or similar presentation programsAbility to think creatively in three dimensions and envision how designs will executeKnowledgeable in technical aspects of construction; experienced working with overseas development and able to allocate work to tailorsExcellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills supporting a team environmentAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentExemplary time management and project management skillsStrong follow-through; proactive, extremely organized, and detail-orientedAbility to recognize and react to changing work demandsGoal-oriented with strong organizational skills, a sense of priority for deadlines, and attention to detailMentor or management experience, including guiding interns, freelancers, and assistant freelancers while nurturing talentBA or Associate Degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a comparable fieldHardworking and flexible with strong problem-solving skills
