About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Retread Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Retread Center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and meeting the demands of our commercial retread customers.
Main Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe and clean facility, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
- Inspect and verify daily safety checks of equipment, identifying any potential hazards or issues.
- Dismantle and repair or replace faulty components, reassembling and testing them to ensure safe operation.
- Conduct routine inspections of gearboxes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and frames, diagnosing causes of malfunctioning machinery.
- Keep accurate records of work completed on machinery using company Shop Connect system.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience working in a distribution center/warehouse environment, with 1 industrial maintenance experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, with frequent lifting over 75 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
Work Environment
This role will require working within a fast-paced distribution center and tire retread plant environment, where you may be exposed to wide temperature variations, dirt, dust, rubber smells, and debris, as well as powered material handling equipment and commercial truck traffic.
