Summary of Duties:
- Supervise the activities of all staff at the Adult Foster Care facility including direct care, cooks, administrative assistants, volunteers, and maintenance.
- Training and development of new and current employees
- Hiring, firing and counseling of facility staff
- Enforce attendance policies
- Enforce operational policies of the organization including medication guidelines and ensures each residents’ rights are known and respected and that the facility remains in compliance with State of Michigan licensing rules.
- Ensures housekeeping is adequate to minimize the growth of germs and spread of dust
- Ensure completeness and up-to-date status of all resident/client and personnel documentation.
- Act, speak, and dress in a professional manner at all times while in the home.
- Lead and plan regular staff meetings.
- Plan the monthly resident menu, prepare a corresponding grocery list, and do grocery shopping for the home.
- Plan the monthly activity schedule for the home and ensure that it is followed.
- Assist in the preparation of resident person center planning goals and in all associated meetings.
- Ensure that the physical appearance of the facility is neat, clean and in good repair.
- Manage the petty cash
- Coordinate doctor appointments, medication refills, and transportation.
- Create new resident folders and emergency information.
- Oversee hiring, orientation and counseling process with all employees of the facility.
- Maintains and/or improves upon the occupancy level and revenue production of the organization to include managing the process for new admissions and completing all activities required to establish contracts. This includes: completing the required admissions paperwork in a timely and thorough manner, briefing management and line staff on the resident’s care needs.
- Develop, plan, promote and coordinate special events, presentations, community outreach and community events for residents, their families and professionals in the community, targeted at community education, establishing and maintaining status for the organization as the expert on residential housing.
- Maintain regular contact with leads and referral sources, meeting established sales goals.
